'Game of Thrones' is now one season away from its final countdown. The Season 7 finale brought in a certain level of fulfillment as two of its beloved characters put their relationships on a whole different level. Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow had that long-awaited sex scene stirring up a flurry of debates.
As it turned out, Daenerys is not the only Targaryen still alive and her new lover may question her claim to the Iron Throne. This is a big dilemma, perhaps the second most important momwnr that will follow the narrative thread throughout the Season 8.
Now that the Army of the Dead has breached the Northern Wall, the entire Westeros is facing the prospect of total annihilation. And that's the reason a clear balance of power is needed within the living world.
Daenerys Targaryen and the changes she went through
As with any long-time surviving characters in 'Game of Thrones', the winds of change had a significant impact on Daenerys' persona. She went through so much and now she is one of the most complex characters, perhaps somewhere in the same drawer with Jon Snow or Tyrion Lannister. One thing that had the most severe effect on her behavior — putting her grip on real power changed her view of the world. The responsibility that came with that power added an extra pressure on her shoulders so her decisions were not always sound.
So far, she has used her name and her claim to justify all of her actions. It will be interesting to watch how that perspective will change once the real roots of Jon Snow will hit the surface point. Will she be willing to take a step back now that the real heir to the Iron Throne is none other than Jon Snow?
The enemies won't step aside especially if they'll feel any sign of weakness
Crossing the Narrow Sea in what was hoped to be an attempt to overthrow the pre-existing establishment in Westeros, Daenerys Targaryen, once a remote ineffable and distant threat, caused a stir especially to House Lannister. Thus, Cersei Lannister is the biggest threat on this line for Daenerys.
The Army of the Dead is the next on the list and the fact that one of her three dragons is now a servant of the Night King. This intriguing antagonist may use the reanimated dragon to put up a serious threat to Danerys' life.
Ultimately, House Stark and the entire Winterfell may want to kill her in the future. If she won't allow Jon Snow to take the first claim to the Iron Throne, Winterfell may eventually see her as a direct threat. One of the last surviving Houses in Westeros, House Stark could use Jon Snow's roots to impose their domination at King's Landing.
