Bran Stark is, without a doubt, the most mysterious character in "Game of Thrones." His visions are enigmatic, to say the least. Every time he sees something, one has to wonder whether it is the past that he sees, or perhaps the future. While almost all the visions feature the events that already happened, there's one, in particular, that is yet to be seen. We are of course talking about the vision of the dragon flying over King's Landing.

There are many theories regarding this. Some say it shows Daenerys' invasion and with the latest events from "Game of Thrones" Season 7 another theory emerged stating that this is actually the Night King flying over the capital on top of Viserion -- his very own undead dragon.

But let's take a closer look at the meaning of this vision and see if we could propose an alternative. So let's jump straight into it.

A quick recap

A dragon flying over King's Landing is, in fact, a vision that's featured multiple times in our story. But let's talk about the first time, and for that, we'll have to go all the way back to "Game of Thrones" Season 4 Episode 2. While Bran, Hodor, and the Reeds were traveling North, they stumbled upon a Weirwood tree. Bran touched it and saw multiple visions. He saw himself falling from the tower, his father in the dungeons, White Walkers and the wights, The Three-eyed Raven's cave and most notably a dragon flying over King's Landing. You can watch the scene down below.

The meaning

While the two theories mentioned above are pretty solid, we believe that the vision is all about Bran. How do we know? Because the showrunners told us so. In their post-episode interview David and Dan specifically said that every single vision in this episode had something to do with Bran, whether it's about his fall, his father, the Three-eyed Raven, and yes, even the dragon vision.

And that pretty much tells us straight away that Bran Stark will warg a dragon.

How will this come into play?

It's no secret that the Others will reach King's Landing at some point. It's probably going to be after the battle of Winterfell where they'll suffer significant losses. And, as we are all well aware of since "Game of Thrones" Season 7 finale, there are a million people in King's Landing -- a million people that the Night King could add to his army.

Also, by that time Cersei will probably flee the city. And so she will show once again that she doesn't care about the people.

According to a blogger yezenontheinternet, this is when Bran will come into play. He will warg a dragon to set off the wildfire beneath the city. As a result, million people will burn, but at least they won't be added to the Army of the Dead. And by doing so, Bran will exercise the moral authority of a god, making the ultimate sacrifice to save mankind.
