Fergie and Josh Duhamel surprised everyone with the unexpected announcement of their separation. In a joint statement released by the ex-couple, they revealed that they have been separated since “earlier this year.”
The two explained that they wanted to keep their separation private before they announced it to the public. Just when everybody thought that their marriage would stay strong, their separation left many brokenhearted. The couple married in 2009.
The surprising announcement
Just days after the announcement, Fergie was bragging about her sex life in an interview on the radio show “Chubby and Caroline in the Morning."
In fact, the 42-year-old singer was proud to say that she has a locked closet full of “mature” costumes.
She even revealed that she was running around their house like a ninja pirate, Supergirl, and Batgirl.
On the other hand, Josh Duhamel unveiled that he was not fond of the idea of separation. As a matter of fact, divorce was the last thing he would he wanted. So, the announcement of their split really surprised the Hollywood world.
Possible reason for the separation
Friends close to Fergie and Josh Duhamel revealed to Us Weekly that their separation was expected.
A source said that the former Black Eyed Peas female vocalist and the 44-year-old actor's different lifestyles was the main reason for their split. The "Transformers" star is said to be just a normal guy who wants a simple life, while Fergie wants to have a Hollywood celebrity lifestyle.
“They just grew apart,” the insider disclosed. Since January, the ex-couple tried hard to stay together.
A plan that ended in separation
To survive their relationship, Fergie and Josh Duhamel were even planning to give their 4-year-old son, Axl Jack, a sibling after the 2016 holidays.
“There’s been a lot of talk about expanding the family this year,” an insider continued to say to Us Weekly.
However, their plan ended in separation. The “Life as We Know It” actor always wanted to have a big family, but the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” hitmaker was not into it. The lifestyle he has been dreaming of was something she didn’t like.
Allegedly, Josh Duhamel wanted Axl to grow up with a Midwestern upbringing. In fact, he is trying his best to let their kid have a normal life. He was upset that Fergie's idea about lifestyle differed so completely from his. He ended up being frustrated every time he felt like his former wife was not doing “normal mom activities.”
