“Criminal Minds” previous season finale left many fans on the edge of their seats with the fatal car crash carrying some of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) team. As some wonder who will survive the accident, there are reports that someone will be gone missing.
On the television show’s official Twitter page, a new trailer was revealed, giving the first look at the upcoming premiere episode. Hinting who is going to survive and say goodbye, it looked like Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) is about to perish in "Criminal Minds" Season 13.
Will Prentiss survive?
Before the “Criminal Minds” Season 13’s trailer comes to a close, Emily Prentiss is seen lying on the hospital bed.
She is bruised, unresponsive, and looks like in a state of coma. While the camera is focused on her, a flat-line beeping sound is playing in the background. Will this be the last time fans will see Emily? To recall, she was in the passenger seat when the truck hit their car in the previous season finale of the police procedural crime drama. So, there’s a big possibility that she will be seriously hit.

After the tragic car crash, Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) will call the help of Matt Simmons (Daniel Henney) to rescue their team.
From here, they will learn that Emily is missing. As some believed that Paget Brewster’s character is about to meet her demise, executive producer Erica Messer cleared that that is no talks about a major character leaving the television show.
Finding Mr. Scratch
Matt Simmons will be officially added to the BAU team. CBS confirmed that the agent is going to leave the International Response Team to be with the BAU.
Simmons will be on a mission to catch Mr. Scratch or also known as Peter Lewis (Bodhi Elfman) together with Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), Rossi (Joe Mantegna), JJ (A.J. Cook), Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), and, of course, Garcia. He was first seen in the previous season helping the group bringing Reid out from a prison in Mexico.

Reid’s return
Reid badly wants to find Mr. Scratch himself in “Criminal Minds” Season 13 after the serial killer framed him up for murder.
He was wrongfully accused and imprisoned in Mexico. This, too, affected the Supervisory Special Agent’s mother’s life. As he is now back, Erica Messer revealed that he will return as a fulltime agent once again. "There's a little bit of 'You're back, but we need you to do some other work,'" she teased.
