Criminal Minds has suffered a backlash because of its recent cast shake-ups and apparently, everyone is a candidate for the show’s notorious cast rotation. When Thomas Gibson was fired in August 2016 after an altercation with one of the show’s writers that he was also directing, fans rallied behind him. He was one of the show’s cornerstones and it only makes sense if fans react on his departure from the series. However, most fans are still hoping to see him again in the show. Recently, one of the series’ stars revealed that everyone is not safe especially in Season 13 premiere.

More characters to leave the show

Adam Rodriguez, who plays as Agent Alvez on “Criminal Minds” recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly and provided more information about the show’s 13th installment. He said that not everyone will survive in the season premiere. “The show picks up where it left off, which was at an intense moment, a car accident, and no, not everybody makes it,” he explained. That said, Agent Walker (Damon Gupton) is the possible character that won’t survive in the car crash. The infamous serial killer Mr. Scratch (Bodhi Elfman) is the one behind the accident.

“Criminal Minds” showrunner Erica Messer previously told EW that there will be one more character that will go missing from the car accident.

That said, fans are concerned that there might be another major character that may leave the series for good. Shemar Moore already made an exit before Gibson was fired but he reprised his role as Agent Derek Morgan during the Season 12 finale. He also said that he is open to occasional visits to the show, which means that we might see him again in the BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) anytime soon.

With Mr. Scratch being the primary suspect in the car crash, it’s not impossible that Morgan will be back to help his comrades to take down the serial killer.

The show welcomes another character

Damon Gupton may have departed “Criminal Minds” but that doesn’t mean someone’s not coming to replace him. Daniel Henney as Agent Matt Simmons starred on the show’s spin-off “CM: Beyond Borders.” Unfortunately, the show was canceled but Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) calls him and asks for his help in checking out the car crash that involves their teammates.

Apparently, the actor will be on the show as a series regular (hopefully for good) as Gupton’s replacement. As for the show’s ratings, we can only hope that they would be able to go back into action following its depleting scores since Thomas Gibson made an exit.

“Criminal Minds” airs on Wednesdays at 10 PM ET on CBS.
