Lauren Alaina, together with Brothers Osborne, and Dustin Lynch announced the nominees for the 2017 Country Music Association Awards on Monday. Live in “Good Morning America,” the country stars appeared in the studio to broadcast the nominations for the 51st CMA Awards.

Alaina, Lynch, and the Osbornes announced the first six categories of the CMA Awards in ABC’s “Good Morning America” which also includes the new artist of the year and the sought-after entertainer of the year award.

Miranda Lambert is on the top of the list with five nominations while Keith Urban has four.

The two are competing with each other for three nominations in the categories such as music video of the year, the song of the year, and single of the year.

Upon hearing the news, Miranda Lambert took to Instagram and said that country music, as well as animals, are her absolute life. She also took the opportunity to express her gratitude to her fans, friends, and family for the support they gave her.

This year is Miranda Lambert’s eleventh nomination for Female Vocalist, which she won six consecutive times between 2010 and 2015.

Keith Urban and Little Big Town earned four nominations this year and tied for second place. Urban is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Music Video and Single of the Year, and Male Vocalist—which is his 13th nomination since he won the award three consecutive times from 2004 to 2006.

Taylor Swift was also nominated for the CMA as the songwriter for Little Big Town’s “Better Man.”

Some of the nominees for the entertainer of the year are Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, and Keith Urban. For the Vocal Group of the Year, the nominees are Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Rascal Flatts, and Zac Brown Band.

Country music fans were quick to point out that all the nominees for Entertainer of the Year are men.

The CMA 2017 Awards

There are twelve categories with five to six nominees each this year. The awards night is known for its playful hosts and unexpected collaboration from different artists that never disappoint the fans and the audience.

The 51st Annual Country Music Association Awards will broadcast live on November 8. The awarding will be held at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will be hosting the event for the tenth time this year.
