Many fans are now thrilled for the up-and-coming premiere of “Chicago Fire” season 6. The fifth installment of the series ended with a major cliffhanger with most of Firehouse 51 trapped in a massive blaze.

Members of the house were called in to respond to a large fire in the last few scenes of the fifth season. Recent reports claim that at least one member of Firehouse 51 would not make it out alive.

What fans should expect in the sixth installment

Derek Haas previously confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that one of the lead characters will bid adieu in “Chicago Fire” season 6.

The co-creator and showrunner assured fans that they will get answers when the NBC show returns to the small screens.

He added that the upcoming sixth installment will pick up where season 5 left off. Derek also revealed that the show is going to do a time jump, and he divulged that the new season will tackle some conflicts between the firehouse family members.

In a separate interview, Derek Haas confirmed that Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) will survive the building fire. However, the showrunner refused to reveal the fate of other Firehouse 51 members, which include Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer), Gabriel Dawson (Monica Raymund), Mouch (Christian Stolte), Otis (Yuriy Sardarov), Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), Kannell (Kamal Angelo Bolden), and Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg).

“Well, I think it’s fair to say he’s going to make it out of there,” Derek revealed when asked about Kelly Severide’s fate in “Chicago Fire” season 6.

“We’re going to see a few different things with his character — he’ll have a new roommate this year from the cast!” the series co-creator went on.

Will Mouch die in season six premiere?

Meanwhile, Hidden Remote claimed that Kannell or Mouch is likely to die in the up-and-coming sixth installment. Based on the most-recent promo, Kelly, Otis, Hermann, and Kidd are able to survive the huge fire.

The publication shared that killing Mouch in “Chicago Fire” season 6 would totally cause a massive stir since devoted followers of the show love the character.

"The odds are definitely stacked against Mouch as he had suffered a heart attack before being trapped alongside Herrmann and seemed to be in the most dire of situations," the publication stated.

While these speculations could possibly be true, it should be noted that nothing is confirmed as of yet. “Chicago Fire” season 6 is scheduled to premiere on September 28, 2017 on NBC at 10 p.m. Stay tuned for more spoilers, news, and updates!
