'Outlander' Season 3 star Caitriona Balfe on Claire's marriage

In the latest episode of "Outlander" Season 3, Caitriona Balfe (Claire) was seen longing for Sam Heughan (Jamie.) Yet, spoilers are making the rounds that Balfe could give her marriage another try since she was once happy with Menzies (Frank.)

Knowing how far she is from Jamie, Balfe understands that her character has to live her life without Heughan.

Balfe thinks that the producers and writers of "Outlander" wanted to see how fans would react if the story will make Claire fall in love to Frank once again.

“What I loved about it was just that the writers really allowed it to be very complex," the former "Victoria's Secret" angel revealed, "and we fought very hard for that in the beginning because I think, you know, you do not want to just play."

Balfe believes that married people can actually build connections and can understand their partners in the long run. She also thinks that the couple will be able to become more passionate as Balfe spends more time with Frank and while she is centuries away from Jamie.

"So hopefully I feel like with the scene in the hospital with the baby arriving you get a moment of like oh yeah maybe it could work and the more moments you have like that makes it a bit more interesting it is," she continues.
