'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' season 5 spoilers: Amy makes a deal to get Jake out of jail

In this week's episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5, viewers saw Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) behind bars after he and Det. Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) were framed for a bank robbery they didn't commit. Noticeably absent was Gina Gershon, who played Lt. Melanie Hawkins, the dirty cop who framed them and is still at large. She will, however, return for next week's episode titled "The Big House Pt.2," which may finally find her brought to justice.

But that process isn't without its challenges. In fact, SpoilerTV just published the press release for next week's episode, in which Lou Diamond Phillips will return as Romero, the prison bad boy who is running a drug smuggling operation. In next week's episode, viewers will get to see Jake get caught up in it all.

Jake serves as a snitch to catch Romero

Next week's episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 brings back guest star Lou Diamond Phillips as Romero, who is running an illegal drug smuggling operation. The prison warden, played by Toby Huss, asked Jake this week to serve as a snitch, and Jake reluctantly agreed so he could keep his mobile phone and talk to Amy anytime he wanted.

Jake is set to get in trouble when Romero might catch him spying on his illegal operations. Meanwhile, back at the precinct, the squad is still working hard at the case. Captain Holt is taking careful strides to solve the case, but it seems that Amy (Melissa Fumero) has plans of her own.

'Prison Break' star Paul Adelstein to guest star

When "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 returns next week with "The Big House Part 2," it will feature "Prison Break" star Paul Adelstein, who will play the head of a mob dynasty who may have information on Lt. Hawkins. He will play an integral role in Jake and Rosa's exoneration. In fact, Amy will be offered a deal by Adelstein's character, but it's still unknown what he will ask for in return.

Episode 3 will see Jake and Rosa back in the precinct

Another spoiler for "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 is that the squad will manage to exonerate Jake and Rosa, as the pair are set to be back by the third episode, airing this October 10. But before that, fans will get to see more of Jake's cannibal cellmate, Caleb (Tim Meadows) as they face challenges while in prison. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 episode 2 titled "The Big House Part 2" will air on FOX on October 3 at 9:30 p.m. and will bring back guest stars Gina Gershon, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Tim Meadows.
