Arron Carter has agreed to go to rehab. This is a huge step for the troubled singer and one that may just save his life. TMZ reported that Carter's rep confirmed the news just hours after Florida police rushed to Carter's home to do another welfare check.

"Aaron has decided to enter a facility to improve his health and work on his overall wellness. He is going to do this privately and focus all his attention on being the best person and performer possible."

Carter's rep also added that Aaron wanted his fans to know that he is grateful for all their love and concern.

The celebrity news site revealed that it has been a touch and go situation with Aaron concerning rehab. The "I Want Candy" hitmaker is aware that he needs professional help with his addiction and mental health issues and has taken one of the most important steps in terms of beginning his recovery.

Carter admits to drug use

Fans following Arron Carter's life have been growing more concerned daily about the 29-year-old former pop star's well-being for the past several weeks. Aaron's public downfall finally came to a head after the singer appeared on the "Doctors" late last month, going back and forth with Dr. Travis Stork about realizing that he needed help and what to do about it. The doctor attempted to get Aaron to commit then and there to check into rehab, but Carter was against it at the time.

During his appearance, Carter revealed using pot and Xanax to cope with his issues of anxiety and stress. He also stated that he did not want to use medication and drugs to help him cope. As previously reported, Aaron Carter was arrested in Georgia on DUI charges in mid-July. Since his arrest, Aaron's life has continued to spiral out of control.

Carter, who revealed that he is determined to get his music career back on track, has made numerous news headlines over the past months revealing his addiction issues and his bisexuality. Most recently, friends and Family Members alerted the authorities that Aaron may be suicidal.

Aaron recently spoke, out stating that the reports about his family's concern for his well-being were false because at the time he had not been in contact with any of his family members for some time.

Aaron Carter has a tough road ahead of him, and many fans hope he commits to staying in treatment. Only time will tell in terms of what ultimately happens with this situation, however, at the time of this writing, Carter seems committed to getting help.
