Niklaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline Forbes' (Candice King) short-lived romance in "The Vampire Diaries" will finally be given another shot in "The Originals" Season 5. Shortly after the series showrunner Julie Plec gave her final say about Caroline's participation in the series, a bunch of fan-made theories about the "Klaroline" love story have become more rampant in the headlines.

Season 5 is expected to give its final go as the final chapter of the horror-thriller series, so there's definitely a lot of exciting events to look forward to.

In the middle of whispers and rumors about what may be in store for the final season, Caroline's anticipated cameo is reportedly getting more attention from the majority.

'Klaroline' story to be continued in 'The Originals' future?

Though reports say that Caroline's appearance might not be just about reuniting with Niklaus, the predictions are saying that that the much-requested "Klaroline" reunion will surely have a portion of all season 5. It has been speculated that Candice King's character will open a series of new storylines that might be relatively connected to Niklaus, who happens to be Hope's (Summer Fontana) biological father.

In the finale episode of "The Originals" season 4, the Mikaelsons were forced to cast a spell in order to split The Hollow into pieces and save Hope from being possessed by the villain's powerful magic.

The plan to secure the safety of the youngest Mikaelson was made possible, but the family will have to face the worst consequence of being away from each other for eternity.

On the other hand, as Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) also wishes to protect her daughter from The Hollow, she will bring Hope to Mystic Falls and enroll her in the Salvatore School owned by Caroline and Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis).

While it is not known yet if this has something to do with how the "Klaroline" romance will blossom once again, it seems like the viewers won't have to wait too long to see Caroline and Niklaus come together due to the fact that Hope is in Mystic Falls and that Niklaus will probably end up longing for his daughter's embrace, forcing him to visit the town once more.

As per The Christian Post, Plec said, "She's got so much life in here. She just brings the spirits up of people around her. There's just something great about watching Caroline call Klaus on his s***."

Game over for 'The Originals' future

Shortly after Plec announced the fifth installment as the final season of the series, a mixed reaction from its fan base was also quick to make a frenzy all over internet feeds, and many were saddened due to the fact that "The Originals" will be leaving the small screens for real after season 5.

Though an online petition was made by fans to revoke the network's decision, Plec's statement on Twitter was loud and clear enough for everyone to believe that the journey will finally be laid to rest after season 5. While The CW has yet to announce the official airing date, "The Originals" season 5 is reportedly set to return anytime in 2018.
