The Teen Choice 2017 awards are set to honor Award-winning artist Bruno Mars with a “Visionary Award” for his contributions to contemporary music, Wavy reported.
According to the article, the award-giving body will give a special award to the Grammy award-winning singer for “his innovation and contributions to contemporary music.”
Mars has recorded quite a number of titles from the beginning of his career, with recent ones earning the top spot in hit charts. He takes pride in his 2017 hit single “That’s What I Like.”
Wavy emphasized that the “That’s What I Like” singer is currently the only artist in the previous year to have turned his singles from the same album into four-time Platinum hit songs.
‘Visionary Award’
The Teen Choice 2017 awards, which will air this Sunday, August 13 on FOX network, will present the “Visionary Award” to Mars.
He is a 21-time Grammy Award nominee and has won the Grammy Awards as well for several times. Aside from being a singer, he is also a songwriter, producer and great entertainer. According to Wavy, the “Versace On The Floor” singer has sold over 170 million singles around the world, earning him the label of being one of the best-selling artists around.
Furthermore, one of his recent singles “24K Magic,” has made it at the top of digital, RnB and hip-hop charts, as well as within the top 10, for over two months, Wavy added.
Sunday is ‘Teen Choice’ awards
This Sunday, the much-awaited “Teen Choice 2017” will air on FOX, at 8 p.m.
ET from the University of Southern California’s Galen Center.
Mars is joining other breakthrough artists to receive special awards, such as Miley Cyrus and popular band Maroon 5.
According to Wavy, the show’s special presenters will include award-winning female pop group Fifth Harmony, actor and comedian Anthony Anderson and social media influencer Logan Paul.
E! Online has provided more details of tomorrow’s show. Newest boy band PRETTYMUCH is gracing the stage with their debut single “Would You Mind.” They are reportedly being eyed as the next One Direction.
Jake Paul is also taking over the inaugural "Teen Fest," a three-hour festive event that will feature performances before the actual awards show.
The social media star is gracing the event, which will reportedly stream live on YouTube, prior to the Teen Choice 2017 awards show.
