The upcoming Teen Choice 2017 will present ultimate choice awards to singer Miley Cyrus and sensational band Maroon 5, Variety reported.
In a report by EOnline, Cyrus is receiving the award during the Teen Choice 2017 show to honor her participation in the awards show for over ten years. She has been the recipient of 18 Teen Choice awards according to Variety. She also becomes one of only six artists in the history of the show to receive the ultimate choice award.
The 2017 Teen Choice awarding event is also set to honor Maroon 5 with the decade award, another article on Variety reported.
The award-winning band currently has Adam Levine on lead vocals, Jesse Carmichael on keyboards and rhythmic guitars, Mickey Madden on bass, James Valentine on guitars, Matt Flynn on drums, and PJ Morton on keyboards.
The report emphasized that the decade award recognizes their huge contribution to pop music and pop culture.
Nominations
The show’s official release has presented this year’s nominees for the Teen Choice awards.
Selena Gomez leads the nomination with nine nods, followed by Justin Bieber with seven nominations.
Among the names on the 2017 nomination list for movies are Harry Styles for “Dunkirk,” Gal Gadot and Chris Pine for “Wonder Woman,” Charlize Theron for “The Fate Of The Furious,” and Emma Watson for “Beauty and the Beast.”
For the television category, Timeless,” “This Is Us,” “Stranger Things,” “Riverdale,” “Famous In Love,” and “Star” are battling for the choice breakout for TV show award, the official release revealed.
Featured performances
E! Online revealed this year’s featured performances.
Set to grace the Teen Choice stage are Louis Tomlinson and Bebe Rexha performing “Back To You.” Clean Bandit is reportedly singing their hit song “Rockabye,” which gained a nomination.
Furthermore, EDM band is performing “Symphony” with pop artist Zara Larsson, and will be accompanied by the Samohi Orchestra Strings section from Santa Monica High School, the report stated.
Appearing on the show are Rita Ora, Lil Yachty, Rae Sremmurd, French Montana and Ed Sheeran. Variety also stated that Katherine Langford, Zendaya and “Wonder Woman” Gal Gadot will be present.
Teen Choice is an annual event that honors the most successful names in movies, television, fashion, and comedy. The winners are selected by teenagers, as well as new categories for the awards.
The two-hour event will air on FOX on the 13th of August at 8 p.m. ET/PT, happening from Galen Center at the University of Southern California, Variety added.
