New rumors and emerging fan theories have been surfacing as of late regarding "star wars episode 8: The Last Jedi." The most recent being Maz Kanata's (Lupita Nyong'o) role in the forthcoming sequel as it has something to do with the resistance and the rebel collective's new ally.

Pirate Queen will be on the move this time

The Force-sensitive humanoid from the planet of Takodana was first seen in "The Force Awakens," though she was not seen that much in the film. However, recent reports suggest that the so-called pirate queen will be the one to introduce the rebels to Del Toro's mysterious character who goes by the moniker DJ.

Sources also believe that Maz will be on the move in "The Last Jedi" as she will be dodging the First Order at all cost in order for her to establish a proper connection between the resistance and DJ. This could mean that Maz could be delving deeper into the galaxy's criminal underworld since it is the only way to reach the shady character of Del Toro.

John Boyega who plays Finn in the upcoming film stated that they needed a code breaker in "Episode 8" as he described DJ as the best in the galaxy. Boyega added that DJ is only in it for financial gain as he does not fight for anyone's side.

Burning the house down...literally

Meanwhile, a new fan theory emerged just recently about Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in "Episode 8." It can be recalled that there was a scene in the teaser where there's burning structure as Luke alongside R2D2 looks on.

The latest fan theory suggests that it was one of the Jedi temples that are being burned down and the culprit is no other than Luke himself. The theory further explained that the structure housed information or something important for Kylo Ren and Luke does not want his nephew to have it.

Rey's head getting wrecked

Rey (Daisy Ridley), on the other hand, is said to be hit psychologically in "The Last Jedi." Ridley may well seem to have tipped this event in the upcoming film about a year ago in a podcast dubbed "My Dad Wrote a Porno." One of the hosts asked her as to whether her character will be injured in the film.

Ridley can be heard that she was quite hesitant to answer such question, though he replied yes. She did not elaborate any further what kind of injury will it be, though recent rumors believe that it will be psychological.

"Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi" will be released on December 15. Check out a video about the upcoming sequel here:
