Scott Glenn joins the cast of "Castle Rock." He's slated to play Alan Pangborn, who has appeared in a couple of Stephen King's books. Scott Glenn is currently part of the Marvel universe in its Netflix shows. He makes appearances in both "Daredevil" and "The Defenders" as Stick. Another recent role of his was as Kevin Garvey, Sr. in "The Leftovers." He's a great actor and will undoubtedly be a great addition to the show.

What is Castle Rock?

Castle Rock is a city that first appears in King's novel "The Dead Zone." The town pops up in several books and ties together a good amount of characters in the Stephen King universe.

The town is used in "Cujo," "Needful Things," and other popular books of his. It's a small, fictional town in Maine. Many of King's stories take place in Maine, whether it be in real or fictional towns. Essentially, the city of Castle Rock ties together a good chunk of Stephen King stories between his novels and novellas. Back in February, there was a teaser trailer released.

What do we know about Alan Pangborn?

Alan Pangborn is the former sheriff of Castle Rock. He's been portrayed in movies previously. Ed Harris portrays the character in "Needful Things" from 1993 and Michael Rooker portrayed the character in "The Dark Half," which also released in 1993. His wife, Annie, and son, Todd, were killed in a car crash and he's left with one son, Al.

One other thing we know about Alan Pangborn is that he suffers from nightmares. That's something that could play a huge role for the character in "Castle Rock."

Glenn is joining a fairly stacked cast that includes Andre Holland, Sissy Spacek, Melanie Lynskey, Jane Levy and Bill Skarsgard. The Hulu series is being produced by Warner Bros.

Television and Bad Robot Productions. The list of executive producers on the show includes Sam Shaw, Dustin Thomason, J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson and Liz Glotzer.

As Stick, he's a blind man who has a whole lot of fighting skills. He feels like a really great fit for the show and it's one that many fans seem to be looking forward to. Stephen King properties are being adapted left and right, but none feel like they've been done quite like this one. It's not a straight adaptation of a single book, instead, it's going to encompass many aspects of the characters he's created within his own universe. The show has officially started filming.
