There has been no character referred to as the Sugar Man in the "Archie Comics" which the series is based on and fans are wondering if the creator is adding a supernatural element to the second season of "Riverdale."

According to the Verge, it has been confirmed that "Riverdale" will be moving away from the detective tone of season one and will be exploring a much darker supernatural tone in the show's second season.

Aguirre-Sacasa has stated that he is going to be introducing elements of the supernatural into the show and has teased that he may eventually be crossing the world of "Riverdale" with that of Sabrina from "Sabrina the Teenage Witch."

Fans are wondering what the Sugar Man is and a Reddit user has explained the supernatural creature

According to the Verge, many of the fans of "Riverdale" have never heard of the Supernatural Creature called the Sugar Man but one Reddit user appears to have all the information about the possible villain.

According to the Reddit user, the Sugar Man is a creature that goes around neighborhoods looking for sweets from the neighborhood children.

Apparently, if the Sugar Man does not get enough sugar from the children then he eats them. He is described as having a bulbous body and a long flickering tongue that constantly looks for sugar.

The Reddit user explained that the Sugar Man usually arrives in places around Christmas time, as he needs the warmth of houses when snow falls and he gets cold.

The Sugar Man in the photograph shared by Aguirre-Sacasa is holding a bag with the word "sugar" written on it which leads fans to believe that this is the supernatural addition to the shows second season. Fans are looking forward to seeing if the Sugar Man does feature in the second season of "Riverdale."

It has been confirmed that the second season of "Riverdale" will be released this coming October in 2017.
