Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy welcomed their first child, Shai Aleksander, in January. On July 8, the "Dancing with the Stars" couple finally said their vows before their family and friends in an intimate wedding ceremony at Oheka Castle in Long Island, New York.

Murgatroyd opens up about her 'DWTS' comeback

When asked if both of them have talked about her return on the dance floor, Peta Murgatroyd revealed that they are still waiting for updates from the "Dancing With The Stars" team. The 31-year-old pro, however, confessed that she has set her own conditions before she can fully commit to returning on the dance show.

"I don't want to spend 10 hours away a day from my child, so those things factor into it for me,” she told ET Online. “I'm a mom now and that comes first you know?”

She went on to discuss Sean Spicer's potential participation on "Dancing with the Stars" and thought that it would be fun to have the former White House press secretary on the show. Although the ABC program has yet to finalize the lineup for the upcoming season, there have been rumors claiming that the political aide might join the reality show when it returns on September 18.

'DWTS' reportedly eyes to cast Spicer, Jackson

An insider told Variety that the dance program has been considering to cast Sean Spicer since he resigned from his White House role a few days ago.

It, however, clarified that the team is still in the early stages of their casting process, which means nothing definite has been decided.

“Right now just talking. Nothing beyond talking about casting. [There's] no one we’re dying for right now," the source explained.

Aside from the former White House press secretary, rumor has it that DeMario Jackson, the controversial "Bachelor in Paradise" outcast, has shown interest in joining the lineup for the new "Dancing with the Stars" season.

An affiliate even claimed that the former "Bachelor" contestant is currently "in talks" with the program for his potential participation.

Both ABC and the dance show have yet to make a comment to deny or confirm Sean Spicer and DeMario Jackson's potential casting.

While things are still uncertain for these two candidates, Peta Murgatroyd, on the other hand, guaranteed that she is ready to hit the dance floor again.

“I feel good. I really feel like I'm getting to my top shape again," she added.

Peta Murgatroyd was a cast member of "Burn the Floor" for six years before she joined "Dancing with the Stars" in 2011, where she met her husband. She has won the dancing competition twice with Donald Driver and Nyle DiMarco in seasons 14 and 22, respectively.
