Several fans are now excited for the upcoming premiere of the “Avatar 2” movie. Recently, series director James Cameron has confirmed that he is closely working with Weta Digital for the visual effects of the much-anticipated sequel.

Vanity Fair reported that James Cameron has confirmed that he got reunited with Weta Digital for the “Avatar 2” film at the SIGGRAPH computer graphic conference over the weekend. According to the news outlet, the veteran Canadian filmmaker, together with his team, has already began working on the visual effects of the forthcoming sequel.
Along with senior VFX supervisor Joe Letteri, Cameron was able to nab an Oscar award for the visual effects of the first movie. So, it is quite unsurprising that the 62-year-old director has decided to work with Weta Digital again.
“Since we made Avatar, Weta continued to prove themselves as doing the best C.G. animation, the most human, the most alive, the most photorealistic effects in the world,” James Cameron has stated. Producer Jon Landau has also expressed his delight to be collaborating with Weta again for a new project.
Landau said that he is impressed by the company’s excellent tradition that is at par with their culture at Lightstorm Entertainment, Variety shared. He also assured fans that the succeeding films are going to be better than the first “Avatar” movie.
In the said event, the James Cameron has also revealed that “Avatar 2” is likely to premiere in December 2020. To recall, the much-awaited sequel has been delayed for the third time since all the sequels are to be filmed at the same time.

Meanwhile, Cinema Blend has shared that James Cameron is going to direct all the four sequels.
However, the film expert admitted that he does not expect the follow-up movies to be as successful as the first one.
As for the script, Cameron tapped the help of Josh Friedman, Amanda Silver and Rick Jaffa to help him breakdown all the chapters of the imminent four sequels. While details about its plot remain scarce up to this writing, the director has previously claimed that new cultures, habitats and world are going to be introduced in “Avatar 2.”
Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are expected to reprise their roles as Jake Sully and Neytiri in the upcoming sequel.
