The long wait is almost over for the return of "Dancing With The Stars" with its all-new season on September 18. In fact, the ABC program has promised a more exciting season filled with surprises and never-before-seen dance routines. The reality competition, however, has yet to reveal the celebrities who will heat up the dance floor.
'DWTS' returns for 25th season this September
Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater were declared the winner against David Ross and Lindsay at second, and Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy at third last season. For the new run, fans of "Dancing with the Stars" have already shared their different suggestions on who should be on the show.
There were those who named John Travolta as a potential cast, while others want pop singers Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift on the show. But among the long list of candidates to join the program, two names have stood out and will probably hit the dance floor next month. These two are Sean Spicer and DeMario Jackson, who have been making headlines for different reasons.
Spicer and Jackson as potential 'DWTS' contestants
Sean Spicer is the former White House press secretary, who resigned from his job just a few days ago. An insider told Variety that the "Dancing with the Stars" team has been eyeing to cast the political aide since he stepped down from his White House position.
The source, however, clarified that the ABC show is still in the early stages of the casting process.
“Right now just talking. Nothing beyond talking about casting," it explained. "[There's] no one we’re dying for right now.”
DeMario Jackson, on the other hand, is one of the most controversial contestants of the "Bachelor" franchise. He was recently mired in a huge scandal with his "Bachelor in Paradise" cast mate, Corinne Olympios, over an alleged misconduct on the filming set in Mexico.
Both parties later confirmed that they will no longer be participating on the reality show after the whole controversy. Now that DeMario Jackson has formally backed out from the dating program, new sources have revealed that the former "Bachelor" contestant is eyeing to join the "Dancing with the Stars" lineup for its new season.
An affiliate told ET Online that DeMario Jackson is "highly interested" to take part in the long-running dance program, while another source claimed that the controversial "Bachelor in Paradise" outcast is already in talks with ABC for his participation in "Dancing with the Stars."
Sean Spicer and DeMario Jackson's casting in the dance program is still up in the air as ABC and "Dancing with the Stars" have yet to release an official statement regarding the matter.
