Until Sunday, July 30's episode of "Game of Thrones," stars Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke was never in any scene together. So when they were filming season 7, both actors admitted that they freaked out and felt weird about being on the same set.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Emilia Clarke revealed that when Kit Harington came to the set, she had that odd first-time feeling.
“There’s another Hair in town, and I don’t like it!” the actress joked.
Kit Harington said that he was freaked out on their first screen time as well. Turning serious, however, the actor said that this had been a unique experience for both of them.
Kit Harington explained that when actors usually work together, the chemistry develops on screen over time or from the start to the end, but that’s not the case for him and Emilia Clarke.
"Here [on "Game of Thrones"] you know somebody for seven years, and you’ve watched their character on screen all that time," he said, adding that it's even more special because they are aware that the world is watching and waiting for how the story will unfold.
Their undeniable chemistry
But as first scenes go, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke have an undeniable chemistry from the get go on “Game of Thrones.”
He plays Jon Snow, the King in the North, and she plays Daenerys Targaryen who is claiming her right to the Seven Kingdoms.
One of them is the ruler that was promised in the prophecies on “Game of Thrones, ” and this person is supposed to deliver prosperity to the people.
But beyond politics is an important connection between Jon Snow and Daenerys. According to “Game of Thrones” showrunner David Benioff via Time Magazine, the young king and queen are beginning to grow attracted to each other following their first encounter.
Jon Snow and Daenerys end up together
Some fans of “Game of Thrones,” however, have been rooting for Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke’s characters to become romantically linked and their chemistry does help the show. But another group of fans doesn't want Jon Snow and Daenerys to end up together because they are blood-related as Targaryens.
Jon Snow’s real name is Jaehaerys, and he is the unknown son of Daenery’s older brother Rhaegar, which makes him her nephew. Spoilers reveal, however, that the Jon Snow and Daenerys will decide to be with each other despite being told of the truth of their family’s history in the final episode of “Game of Thrones” season 7.
“Game of Thrones” season 7 will culminate on HBO on Sunday, Aug. 27. Viewers will know by then if these spoilers are true.
