Cable is ready to bring the noise and explosions to the highly anticipated sequel to 2016's surprise Hit, "Deadpool." Ever since the cat was let out of the bag during the movie's end credits, fans have been desperate to learn something more. As "Deadpool 2" is still nearly a year away, the best we can hope for is a few snapshots from behind the scenes, and little snippets of what is to come. Today, Ryan Reynolds opened that door to allow a glance at Josh Brolin's Cable.
How does Brolin look?

Honestly, there is only so much that we can gather from two pictures.
The first is a full body image, which presents Nathan Summers in all of his rugged glory. Brolin really does look fantastic here, and the practical effects for his arm fit well. It is also obvious that the actor has been hitting the gym, as this could be the most ripped we have ever seen him. Admittedly, his size is still considerably smaller than the comic book version of Cable, but many fans are willing to let this one go. Afterall, the character is far more than just a collection of muscles.

The other picture, which was actually posted by Mr.
Pool before the full body one, takes us up close and personal with the man of action. Well, the previous picture might have lacked some personality, but this one hints at the type of character Cable is likely to be in "Deadpool 2." One might be reading into it a bit too much, but the chosen gesture indicates that he will juxtapose the merc with a mouth by delivering a less outspoken performance.
The make-up for the scars is also impressive and blends seamlessly with the rest of the image.
Who exactly is the man of action?
Cable's first appearance was in "New Mutants #87," although Nathan Summers did show up before that point. He was created to be somewhat of a direct opposite to Xavier, a man that lets his fists do the talking.
He is mostly known for the series "Cable & Deadpool," which ran for 50 issues from 2004 to 2008. The two anti-heroes complimented each other perfectly, with both a serious and comedic tone.
One element that will be interesting to see in terms of how it is adapted would be the characters' lineage, as he is a time traveling hero and the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor. Considering how complicated the X-Men timeline has become, the filmmakers might decide to keep this part of his backstory a secret for the moment.
"Deadpool 2" is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 1, 2018.
