jessica chastain has been in talks for a possible villain role on "X-Men." Just recently, the actress seemed to confirm the speculations as she posted a photo on Instagram while leaving a caption that says, "Hey @jamesmcavoyrealdeal you ready for me up in Montreal? I'm gonna make you cry so hard! #xmen."

Apparently, Chastain has long been in negotiations to portray the role of Lilandra, the Empress of an alien empire in the upcoming sequel of the film. As she recently shared her photo on social media, Chastain has her fans speculating that she will finally be part of the upcoming movie.

Chastain's first film

If Chastain is granted with the villainous role in "X-men," it will be her first film following her June wedding. For quite a long time, the actress has been eyed to join "X-men: Dark Phoenix." The upcoming movie will center on Jean Grey's power as it starts to amplify when she finally gets into contact with a cosmic energy named the Phoenix Force.

A report from Heroic Hollywood also revealed that the film will star McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, and Alexandra Shipp. The movie production team is yet to give a comment or confirm the speculation. Nevertheless, everyone is thrilled with the recent hints that Chastain has posted on her Instagram account.

Her fans are looking forward to her playing a role in the movie that is not far from happening.

Directorial debut

It was also revealed that "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" is the movie which will debut the directorial skills of Simon Kinberg. Apparently, Kinberg is believed to be one of the movie producers alongside Hutch Parker and Lauren Schuler Donner.

To recall, Kinberg has already been involved with this long-time running movie franchise. However, it will be his first time to direct an X-Men movie.

He was also the person who wrote the different installments of the ongoing movie like "The Last Stand" and the "X-Men: First Class." Apart from directing, Kinberg is also known for producing other movies like "Deadpool 2" and "X-Men: New Mutants." It had been revealed that the upcoming film's production is scheduled to take place in Montreal and is expected to last until the middle of October this year.

It looks to be a busy year for Chastain who won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for "Zero Dark Thirty"" in 2012 and has been nominated three more times. According to a report from Heroic Hollywood, the upcoming movie which looks like it will star Chastain is expected to hit theaters by November 2018.
