From the creator of the hit maker book and movie “Harry Potter” series, J.K. Rowling teamed up with John Tiffany in bringing to us the play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” on stage. What hits the upcoming stage play in Broadway next year are the casts which have just been announced.

The two-part play is written by Jack Thorne and HP writer J.K. Rowling and directed by John Tiffany. The story follows the adventure of Albus Potter which is set 19 years later after the last HP book of Rowling.

Cast and character of the "Harry Potter" play

After its huge success in London back in 2016, the play has undeniably opened up a magical portal to Broadway.

However, with a bigger stage, it also needs to step up, thus, the producer decided on adding 28 new characters played by new actors. It will be opening on Broadway on April with Seven lead members portraying the role of the major characters.

Jamie Parker will still be playing as Harry Potter in the play with her buddies Hermione Granger played by Noma Dumezweni and Ron Weasley portrayed by Paul Thornley. They will also be joined by Poppy Miller as Harry’s Wife Ginny Weasley-Potter, Alex Price as the villain Draco Malfoy, Anthony Boyle as Scorpius Malfoy and Sam Clemmet will be playing the lead role of Albus Potter.

Flying to the Broadway with the main cast are the supporting casts who will be playing a variety of roles including some children who are reported to be having alternate two roles.

Tiffany mentions in an interview that they have been assembling an extraordinary cast to Broadway bringing only the most brilliant and finest actors to the Cursed Child productions.

Phenomenal success of "Harry Potter" in London

Last 2016 when “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” was released in London, it was undeniably phenomenal and even received nine Olivier Awards including Noma Dumezweni’s best supporting actress award.

It also received recognition as Best New Play, Jamie Parker for Best Actor, Anthony Boyle for Best Supporting Actor role, and John Tiffany as Best Director at the annual awards ceremony in London.

The plays preview will be hitting New York’s Lyric Theater in March and the formal play will be in April. Tickets for the play will be available and on sale later this year but it is still unsure as to how long will it be played at the Lyric theater. However, fans are getting more and more excited about the upcoming play and couldn’t the resist the magic of Harry Potter in the wizarding world.
