“Game of Thrones” Season 7 finale ended with cliffhangers. Season 8 will be the final season but we all know it might take a long time before we can watch it again and that might possibly happen as far away as 2019. Everyone has been looking forward to seeing Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) take the Iron Throne as she is the supposed rightful heiress to it. However, the season finale that was aired on August 27 dropped shocking moments on most fans (except to those who have read the book), about Jon Snow (Kit Harrington). So, what do we know so far apart from the King in the North?
The secret of Bran Stark
In the previous season of “Game of Thrones,” Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) was left crippled when Ser Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) pushed him off the tower in Winterfell when Bran saw him having sex with his twin sister Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). That was an attempt to kill the boy to keep their incestuous secret away from others. However, the Stark boy survived but remains crippled until he turns into a Three-Eyed Raven. Winter has come and he’s been seeing visions including the Night King and its army of the dead known as the white walkers.
During the “Game of Thrones” Season 7 finale, Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) with the Dothraki, among others traveled to King’s Landing to show Cersei a white walker.
It was an attempt to convince the queen to fight with them to defeat the army of the dead. However, theories have it that the Night King is actually Bran Stark. The boy now has the ability to place his soul into others and over on Reddit, a fan named turm0il26 suggests that Bran ended up as the king of the dead. The Stark boy has traveled too far back in time to return to the present day and has become the Night King.
Jon Snow is not a bastard at all
The bastard that we’ve known for so long since “Game of Thrones” Season 1 turned out to be the rightful heir to the Iron Throne. Samwell Tarly (John Bradley-West), a steward in the Night’s Watch went to Citadel with his girlfriend Gilly (Hannah Murray) to learn how to be a maester. While complaining how awful his job was at the Citadel (not really, because he managed to save Ser Jorah Mormont), Gilly was reading a private diary.
His girlfriend’s reading led them to learn that Rhaegar Targaryen (Wilf Scolding) and Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi) were legally married after Rhaegar annulled his marriage to Elia Martell.
Lyanna gave birth to baby Jon Snow, who turns out to be Aegon Targaryen. In “Game of Thrones” Season 7 finale, he had sex with Daenerys, who is actually his aunt by blood. Everyone was left on edge through the cliffhangers and there are lots of unanswered questions until Season 8 premieres.
