Global business media company Forbes recently named this year’s highest-paid actresses. Leading the 2017 list is “La La Land” actress Emma Stone, with actresses Emma Watson, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence following her in the next spots.

The 28-year-old actress secured the first spot, reportedly banking around $26 million pre-tax according to Forbes. Most of her earnings reportedly came from the musical film that earned around $445.3 million at the worldwide box office. Stone portrayed the character of Mia, a barista girl who dreams to become an actress.

Stone has won Best Actress in both the Golden Globe and Academy Awards for her role in the movie “La La Land.” She is also known from the movies “Birdman,” “The Amazing Spider-man 2,” and “Gangster Squad.”

British actress Emma Watson earned the sixth spot in Forbes’ highest-paid actresses for 2017. The actress is best known for her role in “Harry Potter,” and recently as Belle in the Disney’s live action film “Beauty and the Beast,” is reportedly a newcomer on the list.

She has earned a total of $14 million from her performances in “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Circle.” The classic Disney movie remake earned around $1.26 billion in the international box office, another report on Forbes stated.

The report stated that it was in 2007 when the British actress was included in the same Forbes list, earning around $4 million. This year, she shares the sixth spot with fellow stars, Charlize Theron.

Highest paid actresses

The rest of the list includes actresses Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts, Melissa McCarthy and Mila Kunis among others.

Their earnings from their 2017 projects were considered for the tally.

Aniston reportedly banked around $25.5 million this year, which third placer Lawrence had around $24 million. “The Hunger Games” actress has signed a contract with consumer brand Dior, the business website added.

“Ghostbusters” actress Melissa McCarthy made around $18 million, as she landed on the fourth spot.

“Black Swan” star Mila Kunis meanwhile, gained around $15.5 million on the fifth spot. Kunis currently is the voice of Meg on hit series “Family Guy.”

Charlize Theron, who stunned viewers with her stellar performance in “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” alongside actor Chris Hemsworth, earning $14 million and tying with Emma Watson. Cate Blanchett is in the number eight spot with $12 million accounted as her earnings this year. She appears in the upcoming movie “Thor: Ragnarok.” The rest of the list includes Amy Adams and Julia Roberts, Forbes reported.
