The list of the highest paying actresses of 2017 was recently released and Emma Stone has beaten former champion Jennifer Lawrence to the top. Stone earned a huge sum of money while starring in the highly anticipated "La La Land" and though she earned less than what Lawrence had earned last year, she has won the 2017 earnings. Stone is a strong advocate for equal pay in Hollywood and hopes that this will bring more attention to her concerns.

According to the Guardian, Emma Stone has officially been named the highest earning actress for the year of 2017.
Stone has earned a total of $26 million in the past year and this is due to her roles in the Oscar Award winning performance in the movie "La La Land."
Emma Stone managed to pass out several other famous actors on her way to the top of the list and Jennifer Aniston in second place closely follows her. Aniston managed to earn a total sum of $25.5 million in 2017 though most of her money is coming in through endorsement deals. Aniston has deals with SmartWater and Emirates airline and brings in thousands from both of these deals each year.
Jennifer Lawrence was the top of the list in 2016 and now has taken a comfortable third place after being beaten out by both Emma Stone and Jennifer Aniston. Jennifer Lawrence managed to bring in $24 million, which was only half of what the actor earned in 2016.
However, Aniston will be appearing on the big screen shortly in the new horror movie "Mother."
Stone has opened up about what it was like when she first started acting
According to Forbes, Emma Stone was shocked to hear that she is in the first place spot for the highest earning actor of 2017. She reminisced on when she first came to Hollywood claiming that she moved there when she was only fifteen years old in order to get started into the film industry.
She stated that there was a time when she was going from audition to audition without getting any jobs and that it is a privilege to be where she is today.
Stone has spoken out about the Hollywood pay disparity in the past claiming that male actors often earned more than their female counterparts. She stated that throughout her career she has had to ask her male co-workers to take a pay cut so that their earnings would be the same.
Stone has explained that many male actors offer to take the pay cut because they realize that the disparity is unjust. She has expressed that this needs to be more freely discussed in Hollywood. Now that the actor has won the highest-ranking position for the top female earner her concerns about wages may receive more attention.
Emma Stone will be back on the big screen starring across from Steve Carell in the movie "Battle of the Sexes" and fans are beyond excited to see their favorite actress in the movie.
