As the Universe Survival saga commenced on episode 77 of “Dragon Ball Super”, so did the Tournament of Power. 80 warriors from the different 8 participating Universes will clash against each other in a Battle Royale style tournament to determine which Universe will earn the right to live.
Universe 9 has been completely defeated by Vegeta's and Goku’s Super Saiyan God Blue transformations, destroying Sidra’s hopes for surviving. And without any mercy, the whole Universe 9 was wiped from existence by Zen-oh. The same fate awaits to 6 more Universes before the winner finally rises victorious.
Universe 7 has suffered the first loss, Krillin. Yet we are not to worry, since Goku’s rage has been triggered, and it will unleash a new terrible phase in his power.
Is Goku’s new transformation the key to winning the tournament?
The latest edition of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine offers more information regarding this subject.
According to Blakenship, the term “terrible” refers to something unexpected or even impossible that is about to happen in the Tournament of Power. He keeps saying that something tragic will happen during the climax of the contest and that it will trigger Goku’s new power-up stage.
Hiroyuki Sakurada, the producer of the anime, made fun about Goku’s new phase as he published a statement regarding the new recently leaked image about the Universe Survival saga.
In his statement, he said that Goku will “try to open new ways” to engage the strongest enemies in the tournament.
While some fans believe that, after seeing the poster, they’ve rushed into conclusions regarding the possible new transformation of the Saiyan, while others suggest that this new phase could be even strongest than any of the Super Saiyan transformations known so far.
