A few of our favorite themes

Dancing With the Stars” is known for its theme weeks, which break up the monotony of traditional cha chas and Paso dobles. But even the special nights can be hit and miss. One of the most popular “DWTS” themes is the Personal Story/Most Memorable Year theme that plays out every season around the third or fourth week of competition. Many of the dances are tear jerkers during this very personal week, and fans often find out some surprising things they never knew about the “DWTS” Celebrities.

Other recurring “Dancing With the Stars” themes include Movie Night, TV theme night, and Rock ‘n Roll week.

There was even a Prom Night a few seasons back.

Disney and Guilty Pleasures

But, there’s no denying that the Disney Night has become a fan favorite. The choreography is often accompanied by animation from the House of Mouse while the celebrities and their partners perform some of the most spectacular dances of the season.

As for Guilty Pleasures night, that theme often refers to a song that the star deems a guilty pleasure.

In the past, songs like Celine Dion's “Titanic “ theme, “My Heart Will Go On” has been used by “DWTS” celeb Shawn Johnson and pro partner Derek Hough, while Apollo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff danced to Rick James' “Give It to Me Baby.” Additionally, a team Guilty Pleasure freestyle was danced to — wait for it — Psy's Gangnam Style.” Entertainment Tonight reported that this prompted host Tom Bergeron to call that night "the most fun [he's] had in 15 seasons.”

Dancing With the Stars” Season 25 premieres Monday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
