"Avengers: Infinity War" isn't due out for another nine months, but that doesn't mean viewers can't get any more details about the highly anticipated blockbuster. The Russo Brothers-directed film, which brings together the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy to defend the Earth and the universe from Thanos' evil plans, will make its way to theaters on May 4. But this year, another Marvel series is set to conclude in the form of "Thor: Ragnarok." It is the third and final film in the "Thor" series and will see Cate Blanchett's Hela attempt to destroy Asgard.

A new international trailer has been released for "Thor: Ragnarok," and surprisingly, another Marvel character makes an appearance in it.

Doctor Strange comes to warn Thor

According to Comic Book, the latest "Thor: Ragnarok" trailer features Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, as he warns Thor, "I sense a great change in your future. Destiny has dire plans for you, my friend." For now, it's unclear whether Stephen Strange is talking about Hela heading to Asgard to destroy it and rebuild it in her image, or if he's talking about an even bigger opponent: Thanos. Fans will remember that the Russo Brothers admitted that there will be some heroes who will meet their end in the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War," and some fans have speculated that it's the older generation of Marvel heroes who might come to the end of their journeys in next year's film.

This includes Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man.

Nick Fury won't be in 'Infinity War'

While next year's "Avengers: Infinity War" will see the team up of both the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, it will oddly not include Nick Fury, A.V. Club reported. In a recent interview with Yahoo! News, Samuel L. Jackson mused about his absence in several Marvel films in which he was always rumored to be part of.

He even quipped about not being in "Captain America: Civil War," which didn't make sense to a lot of fans, as Nick Fury was truly the connective tissue of the Avengers, and may even be the primary reason why the term "Avengers" even exists. It seems that Nick Fury won't appear in "Avengers: Infinity War" either, which is puzzling for fans, as the Avengers are teaming up once again to save the world and possibly, the galaxy.

Hawkeye, Nebula, other supporting characters present

One thing's for sure though, Hawkeye, Nebula, and other supporting characters will be in "Avengers: Infinity War." In fact, Karen Gillan recently mused about how Nebula's story will come full circle next year when she faces her adoptive father, Thanos. This year's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" shed more light on her story, and Gillan said that there will be an "emotional explosion" when she comes face to face with Thanos next year, when "Avengers: Infinity War" hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
