International pop superstar Ariana Grande held her second concert in the Philippines, despite the presence of heavy rains and thunderstorms. She held her concert at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila on August 21, just after her performance in Bangkok before the weekend.

Grande arrived in Manila last weekend via her private jet from her performance in Thailand held on August 17. The singer is currently doing her “Dangerous Woman” world tour, The Standard reported.

The report stated that the security measures implemented in her concert on Monday were similar to the concert of Britney Spears held in the same venue a few months ago.

The local police provided a tighter security to prevent incidents such as the deadly attack that happened in her concert in the United Kingdom last May.

The Standard added that no meet-and-greet was held with the fans, just like during her concert in Seoul, Korea. To adhere to the security measures, fans were reportedly not allowed to bring large cameras and large bags inside the concert area.

This is Grande’s second visit to the Southeast Asian country after she successfully held the “Honeymoon Tour” back in 2015. However, there were reported thunderstorms and heavy rains in the area of the Mall of Asia Arena, the venue of the concert that drew thousands of local fans in the Philippines.

Thunderstorms

According to the forecasts of their local weather station, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms were predicted during the night of Ariana Grande’s performance. On Sunday, CNN reported a storm that was located east of the Philippines.

The storm has affected various regions around the area, including the exact location where the concert was held.

CNN added that the storm may intensify into a tropical storm by Tuesday.

During the night of the concert, rains were pouring down in some of the roads that led to the venue. Even neighboring countries were affected by the storm, such as Indonesia.

‘Dangerous Woman’

The “Dangerous Woman” tour is the third concert of the international singer held in several parts of the globe.

The concert mainly features the songs from her 2016 album of the same name.

Her next destination will be in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam where she will be performing on August 23. Then, she is heading to a set of consecutive performances in China from August 26 to August 30, her official website said.
