A new season of “American Idol” is coming soon, and the reality singing competition has just announced the venue for the first open auditions this year.
In a news release on ABC, “American Idol” advised that they will be holding the open auditions at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Aspiring contestants can head over to Lake Buena Vista at the Disney Springs to get a chance to perform on stage and be watched by millions of viewers around the world.
ABC reported that the open auditions will feature past winners of the show such as Ruben Studdard, Kris Allen and Jordin Sparks.
They are also going to hold an exclusive meet and greet with selected auditionees.
For those interested in joining the open auditions for this season, singers should be at least 15 years of age to qualify, the news release pointed out. Auditionees are encouraged to sign up for pre-registration, which will ask their personal information. Aspirants can reportedly bring a companion but are limited to only one guest.
The “American Idol” open auditions will not have the official show judges at the table, but aspirants will be singing in front of the show producers, ABC noted. The famous Idol bus is arriving at the resort on August 17.
‘American Idol’ is back?
It was previously reported that the hit reality singing competition on TV held the final run around a year ago.
“It’s been a very long run for FOX’s hit series ‘American Idol.’ The year 2016, however, will be its last. From the first breakout artist, Kelly Clarkson, to the diva of country music herself, Carrie Underwood, ‘American Idol’ has spawned careers that likely never would have seen the light of day,” Fansided stated in a report.
What was planned out to be the final run of the show even invited a roster of former judges, with a few drama on the side, the report added. But it seems that the reality show is back once again to give hopefuls a chance to showcase their talent. The rumored judging panel in the upcoming season is an exciting lineup.
Charlie Puth, Katy Perry as judges?
With a new season opening in 2018, fans are also excited about the line-up of judges. According to Variety, singers Charlie Puth, Lionel Richie and Katy Perry are in talks to be part of the show.
The news website added that country singers Luke Bryan and “American Idol” veteran Keith Urban might join the panel for the upcoming season.
The show has produced a number of talents in Hollywood since the first season several years back.
