Talk Show Host Wendy Williams turned 53 years old on Tuesday, July 18. She loves birthdays as is evident by her giving her studio audience tiaras to wear on the show when they have a birthday. On Wendy's Birthday, she wore her tiara and everybody in the studio audience also wore one whether it was their birthday or not. So how did Wendy celebrate her birthday other than wearing a tiara on her head?
Birthday celebration
As usual, Wendy hosted her hot topic session where she talked about the latest celebrity gossip. Then her surprise special guest was rapper Rick Ross who chatted with her about his reality show, "Signed" that is premiering on VH1 on July 26.
Cardi B performed her new single "Bodak Yellow." Afterward, the hip hop recording artist was interviewed by the host, who asked her questions in her usual style.
Wendy announced several times that she was celebrating her birthday today by going to a strip club. She said she has her stack of bills ready to distribute. Viewers are sure to hear about it on tomorrow's show.
Wendy's career
Wendy began her career with her own radio show in the late 80s. She left radio in 2009 to devote time to her nationally syndicated television talk show where she has been delivering news about celebrities for nine years. Not only does she have a successful talk show, she also has a clothing line on HSN. Last month, she launched two mobile apps that fans love.
One of them consists of Wendy's emoji called WenMoji. The other app is Wendy Digital that has the latest pop culture news.
Wendy has a talk show that is unlike other daytime talk shows. She calls her audience her co-hosts. Throughout the show, she engages with them during the "Ask Wendy" section where people ask Wendy personal questions, and they are given advice.
When Wendy interviews her guests she is not afraid to ask them questions that other hosts might be afraid or too embarrassed to ask.
Needless to say, some people disagree with Wendy's approach, but that has not stopped her. Over the years, she has had feuds with some people. However, it doesn't keep celebrities from coming on the show, sitting down on the purple couch, and talking with the host.
The 53-year-old host must be doing something right. Her show comes on twice every weekday. It airs on the CW network in the morning and on NBC in the afternoon.
