There are many fans calling out for crossovers between their favorite shows. For a long time, many fans wanted to see a crossover between "Supernatural" and "The Vampire Diaries." Since that show is off the air, the attention has turned to the supernatural-based show and the Arrowverse. More specifically, the attention has turned to "Supernatural" crossing over with "Arrow," thanks to a few choice words from Stephen Amell.
Stephen Amell is totally up for a crossover
It looks like it's up to Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles now. Amell, star of "Arrow," is up for a crossover between the two shows.
He knows it's something the fans would enjoy and is a close friend of the two stars of the longest-running show on The CW network. While he doesn't want to "pass the buck," he has said that it now lies at the feet of J2. Amell shared the news on Facebook, where he did a live Q&A with his fans. He certainly appeared genuine about his wishes for the crossover.
Of course, it would also lie at the feet of the showrunners of the particular shows. "Arrow" and "Supernatural" are both set in very different universes. There have been no indications that angels could even be real in Arrowverse or that Oliver Queen is a real billionaire in "Supernatural." That doesn't mean a storyline couldn't be created, but it would involve more than the Winchesters driving to Star City to deal with a current piece of news.
'Supernatural' and 'Arrow' film next to each other
It's not surprising that Amell is more than up for a crossover between the two shows. The actor has regularly appeared in videos with Padalecki, as the two sets are next to each other. Both films in Vancouver and are extremely friendly with each other. In fact, Amell has regularly helped to promote the T-shirt campaigns that the SPN men start.
The two shows filming next to each other certainly make a crossover more likely. There would have been problems for "Supernatural" and "The Vampire Diaries," since the latter filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. Yet, the showrunners would still need to come up with a realistic storyline. This could be possible within the world of SPN since the writers have regularly torn down the fourth wall.
