Sophie Turner was given the role of Sansa Stark at the age of 12. As a young actress, who was taking a huge leap in her acting career, the English personality admitted that there was a lot for her to learn when she joined the "Game of Thrones" production.

During her one-on-one interview with Ben Machell of The Times, Turner revealed that the HBO series had opened her eyes to things she was unaware of. The rising star particularly pointed out how the serial drama has served as her sex education with its explicit and uncensored scenes.

'Game of Thrones' and its explicit content

Turner candidly opened up that the fan favorite series has introduced her some adult acts she never knew existed. The young star said she was doing a read-through on the set when she learned about oral sex from going through her script.

The 21-year-old actress admitted she was fascinated and surprised that some people would engage in these acts. After learning some more of these while playing her role as Sansa Stark, Turner felt like she was being taught sex education whenever she is in the "Game of Thrones" set.

The HBO series is known for its nudity, explicit scenes, murder, incest, and bloody fight scenes which contribute to the overall flow of the serial drama.

In fact, the program drew backlash at some point in the fifth season where Turner's Sansa Stark was sexually abused by Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) after their wedding ceremony. Some viewers thought the scene was too violent, while others threatened to stop watching the show for allegedly promoting assault.

Turner countered their critics and argued that sexual assault is something that the public should talk about.

"Screw the people who are saying we shouldn't be putting this on TV and screw the people who are saying they're going to boycott the show because of it," she fired back.

What to expect from Sansa Stark?

Loyal supporters of "Game of Thrones" are excited for the premiere of its seventh season on July 16. But a few weeks before the HBO series can finally make a comeback on our TV screens, Turner dropped a major spoiler about her character's alleged feud with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the upcoming installment.

The actress also raised the curiosity of her fans when she dyed her red which could mean the end for Sansa Stark. Turner, however, clarified that she changed her looks for her upcoming movie "Huntsville" where she will play the role of Josie.
