Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” has made YouTube history after it surpassed Psy’s “Gangnam Style” with a staggering 2,901,992,825 views as of July 2017 and counting. The previous title holder as YouTube’s most-watched video currently has 2,896,057,442 which has around 6 Million lesser views.

It can be recalled back in 2012 when the hit K-pop single made its debut on YouTube then eventually making history as the first video on YouTube to generate a billion views.

The song then topped the charts in several countries, and even then-Prime Minister David Cameron and US President Barack Obama were seen thumping with its iconic moves.

“See You Again” is a collaboration of American rapper Cameron Jibril Thomaz more popularly known as “Wiz Khalifa” and Charlie Puth. This hit song was published at the beginning of April 2015.This tear-jerker song was recorded as a tribute to the late Paul Walker who died in a car accident while “Fast & Furious 7” was still in the process of filming.

Fans, however, are not sad for Psy losing the crown, after all his music video will always be remembered as his song is the one that broke YouTube record as it is the first YouTube video to reach 1 billion views.

To continue the list of most-watched YouTube video of all time is Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” from his album “Purpose: The Movement.” This Bieber song currently has 2,637,828,256 views after a year of being published a year ago. “Sorry” is lower by 290M views from Psy’s “Gangnam Style” and around 296M views from “See You Again.”

Following Justin Bieber in the most-watched list is “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars. This hit pop song currently has 2,551,792,631 views after it was released two years ago.

Another one on the top list of YouTube’s most-watched video is “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi featuring Daddy Yankee.

This song currently has 2,503,724,995 views after only six months from being released.

Other Songs on the top are “Shake it Off” by Taylor Swift which currently has 2.5 billion views after its release in 2014. Following Taylor is Enrique Iglesias with his hit Spanish song “Bailando” with 2,235,033,532 views after three years from its release date.

On the 8th place is “Sugar” by Maroon 5 which has been watched for approximately 2.15 billion times after its release in January 2015. Next is Katy Perry’s “Roar” from her album “Prism” with 1.13 billion views since 2013.
