Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon will team up for a new television series that is inspired by a New York morning show. According to BBC, “House of Cards” producer Jay Carson is attached as a screenplay writer and Steve Kloves is serving as executive producer. Reese is reportedly financing the project through her Hello Sunshine production house – the series hails from HBO alum Michael Ellenberg’s Media Res banner. It may premiere on HBO and streaming services by the end of this year.
Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon to work together
Speaking to Variety in February 2017, Jennifer showed her interest in returning to television.
“I’ve decided to work on television on a regular basis. I will try to come up the expectations of my fans," she told the news outlet.
At this point, Jennifer Aniston wants to be a part of astonishing projects and exciting stories. She and Reese previously worked together on “Friends” where Reese made an appearance as Aniston’s sister. Reese Witherspoon made the jump to television with the HBO show “Big Little Lies,” which earned her several awards and an Emmy nomination. For Jennifer, it marks her first regular TV role since the end of “Friends.”
What is their new show about?
The package, which has not yet hit the market, is expected to be taken out to HBO and Netflix. The untitled series is being spearheaded by former HBO head Michael Ellenberg, with Jay Carson serving as a screenplay writer.
Academy Award nominee Steve Kloves has joined hands with Reese Witherspoon to co-produce the show.
The news of its development came after Reese garnered an Emmy nomination for HBO's series “Big Little Lies.” Multiple reports reveal that Justin Theroux will also star in the show.
Justin is currently playing an important character in the HBO series “The Leftovers.”

After she rose to the limelight as Rachel in “Friends,” Jennifer played supporting characters in “Bruce Almighty,” “She’s The One” and “Along Came Polly.” The 48-year-old actress made cameo appearances in dozens of series and was liked for her powerful performances.
In “Friends,” Aniston portrays Rachel, a fashion designer and Monica Geller's childhood friend. Rachel develops a relationship with Barry Farber, whom she realizes she does not like. Throughout her life, Rachel dates several men such as Paolo, Joshua Bergin, Tag Jones, and Joey Tribbiani. It would not be wrong to say that Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston have made names for themselves in the film industry; we hope their collaboration on the new TV series will get them some awards.
