The book of the same name gained a huge cult following.

The movie adaptation is to be different

As is the case with many book to movie adaptations "Ready Player One" is set to be starkly different from the novel in many ways. According to io9, Spielberg has kept the references to pop culture such as the iron giant, a nightmare on elm street and more.

However, as seen in the trailer, the final scene of the huge race was not actually a feature of the novel itself.

It appears that Spielberg has taken a turn from the continuity of the novel. However, when Spielberg showcased the trailer for the movie, it did receive a good reception at the San Diego Comic Con. Furthermore, with Steven Spielberg at the helm of "Ready Player One," it is sure to be a great success.

"Ready Player One" is due to hit theaters in the U.S. on March 30, 2018. Fans will have to wait until the new year arrives before they can see the movie adaptation of the popular book. With a cult following already attached to the novel, "Ready Player One" is set to be a massive success.
