“Ant-Man and the Wasp” is adding a new member to its cast, and fans of the TV show “Fresh Off The Boat” are going to recognize him quickly. Here’s everything we know so far about Marvel Studios' "Ant-Man" sequel.

Randall Park joins the cast

American actor and comedian Randall Park, best known for his role as Louis Huang in “Fresh Off the Boat,” is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jimmy Woo. His first appearance will be in “Ant-Man and the Wasp.” According to Variety, Park is joining Hannah John-Kamen as the newcomers in the film.

Original “Ant-Man” star Paul Rudd is returning as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly is reprising her role as Hope Van Dyne/Wasp. Michael Douglas is also returning as Dr. Hank Pym. Michael Pena is also expected to return as Scott’s trusted friend, Luis.

Aside from Luis, Scott’s hilarious team of sidekicks will also figure in the movie, including David Dastmalchian and rapper T.I.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” plot and villain

The official Ant-Man and the Wasp plot has not been revealed and still remains a well-guarded secret. Details about the villain, too, are scarce; however, details about the new characters may hint at who the sequel’s villain will be.

Jimmy Woo is one of the oldest characters in the Marvel comic books.

His part in the story dates back during the pre-S.H.I.E.L.D days.

“Black Mirror” actress John-Kamen, on the other hand, is playing a “key role.” According to Comicbook.com, she will reportedly play a character named Dawn Starr, who is described as “charismatic, eccentric, unpredictable, and damaged.” In the comics, a particular Elihas Starr exists.

To readers, he is best known as an Ant-Man villain named Egghead. It is possible that Dawn is a relative of Egghead, and might pave the way for the latter to appear in the superhero franchise.

Interestingly, John-Kamen and Park are two of the three new characters reported to take part in “Ant-Man and the Wasp.” There are several theories as to who the third new character might be.

Janet van Dyne is said to make an appearance in the sequel. After all, she was the original Wasp and now that her daughter is taking on the mantle, it is likely she’ll be there to offer her guidance. The character, however, made a brief appearance in the first “Ant-Man” film, so technically she’s isn’t a new character to begin with.

There are also rumors that a new love interest for Luis will be brought in. A character named Victoria has been mentioned, and she’s described as “unhinged and smart.”
