Wilson Valderrama might be just a newbie in “NCIS,” but his portrayal as Nicholas Torres quickly becomes a vital role in the television series. Now that the 37-year-old star’s character is developing, things are going to change for the new special agent in the coming “NCIS” Season 15.

The former partner of Demi Lovato is fortunate enough to have progressed in the action police procedural drama, unlike Jennifer Esposito, who recently announced her exit from the show as Alex Quinn.

Fans’ reaction to Esposito’s exit

In a report by TV Insider, fans are not happy about Jennifer Esposito’s disappearance in “NCIS” Season 15.

In fact, they are airing their complaints to CBS for continuously removing the 44-year-old actress from various shows. First, the network fired her from “Blue Bloods,” and now, she has been cut off from “NCIS” after just one season. The reason for her departure is still unknown, but some believe that it has something to do with the rating drop since Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo left.

The publication cited that the show has “overcompensated” the departure of Michael Weatherly by adding a lot of new characters to cover his exit. Although the arrival of Jennifer Esposito seems a perfect fit, it seems as though every woman that is added to the show gets a cold welcome from some fans, as the same happened with the departure of Cote de Pablo, who played the role of Ziva David.

Valderrama talks about his role’s purpose and progress

On a lighter note, Special Agent Nick Torres’ storyline in the coming “NCIS” Season 15 will be developed as he is about to find his real purpose.

It has been a big question why Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) employed Wilson Valderrama’s character, although he is believed to be a wildcard.

In an interview with Parade, the actor revealed that Gibbs sees something in him that the senior special agent can relate to.

Nick Torres is described as a “possible leader and a true asset” of the NCIS Major Case Response Team. Although he is also not sure of his real purpose in the group, he is willing to give it a try. Later on, he realized that his group is like his family, each protecting the other’s back.

Therefore, n the next chapter, fans will see him with more responsibility and trying his best to work with everyone.

Wilmer Valderrama added that he, too, is excited to see his character taking “ownership of his role in the team and in the squad room.” This time, he will be keener to look after his group even if he has to protect each one of them with his own life. “That is the journey for Torres for the next season,” he said.
