“Supergirl” season 3 gets more interesting with several new characters. The upcoming CW series took part in the San Diego Comic-Con and dropped more hints yesterday. Fans of the superhero series will meet a roster of new characters to make the plot more interesting.

Meet the new characters in season 3

Among the stars that were announced to join the “Supergirl” series are Yael Groblas, Emma Tremblay, Carl Winston Lumbly, and Adrian Pasdar, ET has noted.

Yael Groblas: The Israel sci-fi TV series “Ha’i” star will play the role of Psi, the DC villainess. The character has psychic powers and her first battle with Kara Danvers (played by Melissa Benoist) will reportedly give the Girl of Steel the biggest surprise of her fighting journey.

Emma Tremblay: “Wayward Pines” star will join the upcoming “Supergirl” season 3 as the fanatic Ruby. Unfortunately, her obsession with “Supergirl” will lead to a near-death experience. Tremblay is actually the sister of Jacob Tremblay who has won the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer for his movie, blockbuster movie titled “Room.”

Carl Winston Lumbly: The CBS “NYPD” detective star will portray the role of M’yrnn J’onzz, the father of J’onn J’onnzz (played by David Harewood).

According to the description for M’yrnn J’onzz, the new character is a peaceful religious leader from the planet Mars.

Adrian Pasdar: The ABC’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” actor will play the role of Morgan Edge, the cruel real-estate developer. This new DC villain will have a conflict with Kara and Lena Luthor (played by Katie McGrath) when he tries to implement his huge plans for National City.

What else to expect from the new season?

A sneak peek was also released at the Comic-Con. In the clip, the relationship of Maggie Sawyer (played by Floriana Lima) and Alex Danvers (played by Chyler Leigh) has been sealed with a smooch.

As previously reported, behind-the-scenes photos teased that the couple will lock lips in the upcoming new season of the fantasy series.

Moreover, the sneak peek features the debut of Reign (played by Odette Annable). The season 3 of “Supergirl” will feature three new major villains and Reign is one of them.

Meanwhile, prior to the Comic-Con panel, the return of another character in the series was also revealed. Calista Flockhart has been announced to recur her role as Cat Grant. Showrunners Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller made the announcement ahead of the panel, Entertainment Weekly has reported.

The Girl of Steel star also shared her thoughts about the role of Flockhart. Benoist told the reporters that she finds the method on how Cat Grant was presented in the first episode as “really clever.”

“Supergirl” season 3 is set to premiere on Monday, Oct. 9 at 8:00 P.M. on The CW.
