The sophomore season finale of “Supergirl” left a few mysteries for the avid viewers of the CW series. The cast of the series recently attended San Diego Comic-con, where they revealed several details about the upcoming season. On the other hand, more spoilers have been hinted as they exclusively sat down with Comic Book after the SDCC event.
In the said interview, Melissa Benoist, who plays the role of Kara Danvers, revealed that “Supergirl” season 3 will head out to unique turn of events. She explained that the tone is going to be different this season.
A different ‘Supergirl’ returns
The second season did not end well for Kara Danvers. While she managed to save the world, the need to send Mon-El (Chris Wood) away has given a huge impact in her life. After all, no one knows where the love of her life ended up.
Meanwhile, the Season 3 trailer was recently released as well and there shows how Kara Danvers is handling the situation. As what viewers have seen, she is not taking the situation very well. She thinks that her Kara Danvers persona, being a human, was a mistake!
As for the timeline, Season 3 will pick up few minutes after the Season 2 finale. Therefore, Mon-el's departure will be addressed right away. Aside from this, David Harewood shared (who plays J’onzz) new stories will be unfolded along the way when the series returns.
Harewood also unveiled details about his character and the return of J’onzz’s love interest: M'gann M'orrz a.k.a. Miss Martian (Sharon Neal). The 51-year-old actor looks forward that his role will be with M’gann again. Considering he enjoyed working with Neal, he described the 44-year-old actress as “fantastic.”
What to expect in Season 3
Moreover, viewers have to watch out for Danvers and J’onzz’s relationship. The latter has always been a father figure to Kara and now that she is acting like no one can tame her, we will soon find out how the Green Martian is going to react. Moreover, the possible wedding of Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) and Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) might happen in Season 3.
Other than the #Sanvers proposal, the spotlight will also shine on James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) and his vigilante identity as The Guardian in one of the episodes. Of course, who can ever forget the new villain for the season? Odette Annabelle will play the role of big bad Reign in the upcoming season.
Furthermore, there are a lot of reasons why we should watch the series. For now, watch out for more updates about “Supergirl” Season 3.
