HomelandSeason 7 is definitely coming and the government and the intelligence community should be prepared. It is going to be a big struggle for the two bodies as it will try to dominate each other’s powers.

President Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) will do everything to eliminate all of her enemies after the failed coup that happened in the previous season. Her team, on the other hand, will do their best to protect the U.S. President from another attack.

The planned rebellion

In an interview with Deadline, the show’s executive producer Alex Gansa talked about President Elizabeth Keane’s leadership that is being compared to the current U.S.

President Donald Trump.

The screenwriter recalled the moment the new POTUS' transition began after he got elected. It was pretty obvious then that he would be in an “adversarial relationship” with his own intelligence community. This was the same storyline that they have put at the start and center of their alternative narrative.

The EP explained that the role of Elizabeth Marvel had a different plan when she came into the office after she got elected. Her new agenda was said to be all advised by Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes).

The intelligence community, on the other hand, is ready to face the new one-sided president. In fact, the CIA and the senior advisor are now planning a rebellion against the new head of state and her government.

This is an effort to show the administration that they can’t be eliminated that easily.

Carrie’s to leave President Keane

Moreover, Alex Gansa revealed that Carrie Mathison will be soon back to be part of CIA once again.

Hence, she will be leaving President Elizabeth Keane’s administration as her senior advisor. Fans have been longing to see the former head of security to be back in the intelligence community since the previous season when her name got cleared from treason charges.

Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), too, is waiting for her return, thinking that the agency is where she really belongs.

However, the role of Claire Danes had been hardheaded as she wanted to start anew. To recall, she even managed an organization to defend the discriminated Americans as the start of her new life. In another interview with Variety, Alex Gansa assured that Carrie Mathison will be back in the intelligence business in “Homeland” Season 7.

“She's been out of it for two years,” he said. Thus, this is the perfect time for her return. But, they still have to make a fitting narrative to make her comeback happen.
