“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14 returns to screens on Sept. 28, 2017. Ahead of its premiere, below are some of the details we have gathered about the installment.

Dr. Teddy Altman returns

Kim Raver will reprise her role as Dr. Teddy Altman for guest appearances in Season 14. It is unknown how many episodes she has signed on, although it is clear she is back not as a regular cast. Likewise, the consequences that lead to her return remain unknown. However, her first appearance is in the premiere episode, titled “Break down the House.”

The Season 13 Finale already hinted at Teddy’s return.

Someone mentioned her name as the person who confirmed that Megan is alive. Teddy’s presence in the new season continues the storyline of Megan’s return. Likewise, fans speculate that her presence might bring back old feelings between her and Owen. Viewers may remember that she had confessed to being in love even when he was already engaged to someone else.

Returning casts

Most of the regular casts, including Justin Chambers, Camilla Luddington, Giacomo Gianniotti, to name a few, are returning for the installment. Of course, Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) is not going anywhere. Only Jerrika Hinton (Stephanie Edwards) has stepped out of the series following her character’s exit in Season 13. Hinton decided to leave the show for a role in the still-untitled HBO series from writer Alan Ball (“True Blood”).

It is unclear if “Glee” alum Matthew Morrison will reprise his role as Jo’s husband Dr. Paul Stadler.

There is a chance that Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) also returns. Jessica Capshaw told TV Line that “nothing is impossible” when asked about Callie’s return. “There’s a great chance that she would come back for something,” she said.

Filming

Production for the new season kicked off with a table read on July 21. Fans also took to social media to share set photos from the filming at Kerry Park in Seattle.

Stadler, fans have yet to see Alex confront him about his feelings for Jo. Season 13 ended with Alex becoming speechless when he finally came face-to-face with Jo’s husband. All the lines he rehearsed were for nothing.

Meanwhile, Meredith is in for another possible love triangle in Season 14. The return of Megan, Nathan Riggs’ (Martin Henderson) former love, could mean the end of what could have been a new relationship. Just when they had opened up about their feelings for each other, Season 13 dropped a bombshell about Megan being alive. Of course, we have yet to see Megan’s face to believe that she has indeed returned. The question now is whether Nathan will choose Meredith or be with Megan and if Meredith would once again be in a love triangle.
