The paparazzi must be now afraid of george clooney as he is dead serious to file a lawsuit to whoever will invade his children’s privacy. On Friday, the 56-year-old actor released a statement against the French magazine Voici for publishing their family’s picture.
Although the snaps look grainy, it evidently features the “ER” star, his wife amal clooney, who is carrying their seven-week-old twins. The pictures are taken without the parents' approval and published on the magazine’s cover unsolicited.
Clooney’s statement
In the statement obtained by CNN, George Clooney complained that Voici magazine’s photographers climbed up their fence, their tree, and illegally took photos of their twins inside their home in Lake Como, Italy last week.
The filmmaker also added that these photographers, the agency itself, and the magazine should be all aware that they will be prosecuted “to the full extent of the law.” He further said: “The safety of our children demands it."
Voici used the photos as its magazine’s cover and plugged it as a “scoop.” Evidently, the pictures are taken from a distance without George Clooney and Amal Clooney’s consent. It, too, braggingly revealed that it is the first one that released the first images of the couple’s twins namely Ella and Alexander. Clearly, there is a big public demand to see the couple's newborn babies’ images.
The magazine’s counter speech
Amal Clooney gave birth to Ella and Alexander on June 7 in London.
Since then, the couple hasn’t released any picture of them to the public.
Thus, Voici argued that releasing the kids’ image is a public interest. In a counter statement released by the magazine (via BBC), it said that people have been following and loving George Clooney ever since his career began. The birth of their twins is even mentioned a lot by themselves and their families.
Thus, it doesn’t think that it has put them at risk. "Those pictures do not put in danger Mr. Clooney, his wife or their kids," it stated.
His reaction to selling famous kids’ pictures
Since George Clooney begins his stint on “ER,” he has been opened about his distaste about the “intrusive, paparazzi-style photographers,” CNN reported.
In an interview with Piers Morgan in 2011, he also talked about the celebrity parents who are selling their children’s photos to the media. "I couldn't really argue for or against that issue," he said. But, when Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt know that the picture of their kid is worth five million dollars, they should make sure that it will go to a charity and remove that “bounty hunting” that comes onto obtaining it.
