Rock singer-songwriter David Cook is back with his new Lyric Video for his latest radio single "Gimme Heartbreak." The "American Idol" Season 7 winner premiered the highly-anticipated single on Yahoo! Music during the previous month. The rock sensation is getting his fans involved in his forthcoming studio effort via his PledgeMusic campaign.

Stage 17

On July 11, David Cook performed at Stage 17 in New York City for the hit radio station 95.5 PLJ, and his new single "Gimme Heartbreak" was one of the three songs (along with his popular hits "Light On" and "Come Back To Me") that he performed live for the intimate group of fans that gathered at the event, which was hosted by on-air radio personality Ralphie.

This mini-concert marked the inaugural debut acoustic performance of "Gimme Heartbreak."

In addition, "Gimme Heartbreak" is the first new music from Cook since he released his critically-acclaimed fourth studio album, "Digital Vein," back in 2015. That independent project was a commercial success, charting in the Top 5 on the Billboard Pop Albums Charts, where it peaked at No. 4; furthermore, the album made it on the Top 35 on the Billboard 200 all-genre charts.

Cook tours the East Coast

On July 9, Cook performed at Infinity Hall in Norfolk, Connecticut, and on the following day, July 10, he headlined the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, New York. Fans and listeners that attended both of these shows were treated to a live performance of "Gimme Heartbreak," as well as his other smash hits.

'American Idol' fame

David Cook propelled to global music stardom when he won the seventh season of the reality singing competition "American Idol," where he bested fellow musician David Archuleta. Throughout his career in the pop and rock music scene, Cook has sold in excess of one million albums, as well as over five million tracks worldwide; moreover, two of his radio singles have been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), which include his "American Idol" coronation song, "The Time of My Life," and the Chris Cornell-penned "Light On." In 2012, Cook moved to "Music City," Nashville, Tennessee, where he has been working on new music. Cook continues to play live shows and bring his new music to the fans.
