The Jetsons cartoon was a TV show way beyond its time. Released in the 60s, it depicted life in the year 2062. Warner Bros. Studios will reportedly release a live-action sitcom remake of this well-loved and endearing series. Looking back now, it is very interesting to note what the predictions were for 100 years ahead. For those who aren’t familiar with The Jetsons, the funny episodes are something that’s worth your time.

Flashback to the 60s

The lives and silly struggles of George, Jane, Judy Angela, and Elroy top bill sitcom. Collectively, they are known as the Jetsons.

Even nearly 40 years after, the name still rings a bell. It is no surprise that Warner Bros. Studios is preparing for its remake considering its success in the 60s. Ultimately, what’s even more exciting is how the studio and its creators will add a twist to the futuristic show.

The 60s-animated series revolved around the Jetson family and their home in Orbit City. Orbit City was a scene of what would happen 100 years into the future. Viewers in the 60s were given a taste of what the future could look like. All the structures, surroundings, and culture were distinctly featuring the future. George Jetson would ride a spaceship-like vehicle with a bubble glass top to head to work. His wife had out of this world appliances.

Comically, these made the tasks of housekeeping disappear.

Judy Angela and Elroy have the convenience and awe of the future world in their hands, but they don’t seem to appreciate it. Truly, whatever one has, there will always be something bigger and better. The show primarily focused on the comedic everyday experiences of the family alongside the future world, high-tech appliances, flying cars and all.

Genius Hanna-Barbera

Hanna-Barbera’s role in evolving the comedy sitcom world is well known. They produced the equally successful "The Flintstones" as well. They were very active and hands-on with their shows. The Flintstones lived in the stone-age while The Jetsons were from the future. It seemed Hanna-Barbera had great tricks up their sleeves with these unique creations.

The original sitcom showed viewers an alternate universe. The futuristic world that the family lived in had elaborate robotic contraptions, holograms, and whimsical inventions. Hence, all these elements are crucial and would probably be part of the remake as well.

Remake persons of interest

The Hanna-Barbera creation took place 100 years from its release. Similarly, the new remake would be patterned in the same way which would occur in 2118. "Back to the Future" director Robert Zemeckis is reportedly one of the Executive Producers. "Family Guy" Executive Producer Gary Janetti will reportedly begin advertising the show and pitch for interested cable networks. He will serve as EP as well with Zemeckis and notable film producer Jack Rapke.

Warner Bros. has partnered with Compari Entertainment for the remake.

Aside from these details, Warner Bros. has kept silent on the specifics. An animated Jetsons film is reportedly on the way as well. Conrad Vernon will reportedly direct it. Perhaps, it’s too early to tell, but with this promising and entertaining plot line, surely, 2118 would be very interesting to watch.
