Justin Bieber's third world tour is on the go. But he will not be able to visit and perform in China after being banned due to allegedly bad behavior.
China does not tolerate bad behavior
Canadian pop idol Justin Bieber is currently busy with his third world tour. The 23-year-old singer is set to perform in various countries in Asia, such as Japan, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines.
But the pop star won't be able to stop by China after being banned for Bad Behavior. The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture released an official statement on banning Justin Bieber from performing in China. The announcement came as a response to disappointed Bieber's fans. The grounds for banning the singer from performing for his fans in China was due to bad behavior.
According to the Bureau's official statement, Bieber has been misbehaving while living abroad. He was allegedly displaying bad behavior even during his performances in China. The Bureau believes that Bieber's unruly attitude has caused public offense.
Regulating China's domestic entertainment market and safeguarding its environment from improper acts is of the bureau's top priority. Despite petitions from fans, they have decided that allowing the performance of an artist of bad behavior like Justin Bieber is inappropriate.
Justin Bieber concert tickets sold in Shanghai
After the official statement of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture came out, many were confused since one Chinese ticketing site was still actively selling concert tickets for Justin Bieber's concert in Beijing. The site had tickets for not one, but two Bieber concerts in China which were supposedly happening in Beijing and Shanghai on September 16 and 23, respectively.
Many fans were hopeful that Bieber's concert in China could still happen.
However, a personnel from the Shanghai cultural authority clarified that allowing a Bieber concert in Shanghai is very much unlikely. The cultural authority office is China's regulatory body that is tasked to approve concerts and other performances. The personnel was certain that decision to ban Bieber was final and in effect.
Getting banned in China is not a first for Justin Bieber. The singer has faced several controversies in the past. Controversies included allegations of probing and spitting on fans and illegal street racing. Justin Bieber was also confronted by issues in his recent concert in Mumbai last May. The Canadian singer is not the first artist to get banned from China. Several musicians line up in China's list of blacklisted musicians. The list includes Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, Selena Gomez, Linkin Park, Bon Jovi, and Bjork.
