"Atomic Blonde" starring Charlize Theron is one of this month's most-awaited movies. If you have seen its trailers, surely you'll agree.

The movie stars Theron as a secret agent, who certainly packs a punch. Seeing her single handedly take on her enemies in realistic-looking fight scenes makes this movie all the more interesting and promising.

What can moviegoers expect from the 'Atomic Blonde'?

Per CNN, Theron plays the role of Lorraine Broughton, an MI6 agent.

Broughton was sent on a mission to Berlin in 1989 - five days before the Wall falls.

The movie is a feast for the eyes, showcasing underground parties and sparkling speakeasies, accompanied by pulsating 80s pop music. The role is based on a character from the graphic novel, "The Coldest City" and affirmatively, is not your average female hero.

According to Theron, women are usually given the roles of a wife mourning a dead husband, a woman with kids - to make the audience invest emotionally. Well, that's not the case in her latest movie.

Charlize Theron, 41 grew up on a farm in South Africa. Her father battled alcoholism and was abusive. When she turned 15, her mother, shot and killed her father in self-defense.

At 17 years old, Theron moved to the United States to study at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York. Meanwhile, a series of injuries left her unable to dance - this is when she began to pursue acting.

Theron’s big break came in 2003 after "Wonder Woman" director, Patty Jenkins cast her in "Monster," opposite Christina Ricci.

This movie won Theron won an Oscar for the role. Delving deeper into it, one could see that the character’s role is somewhat mirroring her own strength in real life. Jenkins calls Theron a real-life badass.

Speaking of John Wick, Keanu Reeves also commends Theron for her work, saying she adds "brutal grace" to the characters she portrays. Theron and Reeves collaborated together in 1997 for "The Devil's Advocate." He was also her sparring partner for "Atomic Blonde."
