The production for the current season of "Alaskan Bush People" is wrapping up. A few more interviews and the filming for Season 7 is finished, according to ABP Exposed. With that, the family will now be focusing on taking care of Ami as she undergoes treatment for cancer.

Ami spotted in California

Ami Brown and her husband Billy were recently spotted in California. A Facebook fan page posted a new image of the couple with fans, which was taken last week.

As the ABP Season 7 is currently on hiatus to give way to "Shark Week," fans are pleased to see a new photo of the Brown matriarch during her battle against late stage lung cancer. Some have commented that Ami is looking good in the photo, knowing that she is undergoing radiation treatment and chemotherapy for stage 3B lung cancer.

In the most recent episode of "Alaskan Bush People," it was revealed that Ami has to undergo a "devastating cancer treatment," according to People. For six weeks, she will receive radiation treatment five times a week plus four hours of chemotherapy once a week. At this point, a surgery is not the best option because, at stage 3B, the tumors have spread to other parts of the body near the lungs.

The surgeon would not be able to remove all of them. So the first option is to do chemotherapy and radiation treatments. When the tumors' size is reduced, the surgery will then be considered.

Moral support pours in from fans

The Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) explained that patients who have been diagnosed with stage 3B lung cancer, in a five-year average survival rate, have a 10 percent chance of surviving. It doesn't sound too good for Ami, and Billy said on the show that her doctors said her cancer could easily go into stage 4. At that stage, the survival rate decreases to less than 10 percent, and the treatments are focused on easing the symptoms and improving the quality of life of the patient.

Fans of "Alaskan Bush People" and supporters of the Brown family have been sending their well-wishes to Ami and her family. Some are sharing that they experienced that same thing, yet they survived and beat cancer.

Meanwhile, ABP will be back with new episode on August 9. There is no new episode this coming week as the Discovery Channel will feature a two-night event for the "Naked and Afraid" and its new survival show "Darkness" on August 2 and 3.

Catch "Alaskan Bush People" on Wednesdays at 9:00 p.m. on Discovery.
