"Dancing With The Stars" Judge Julianne Hough, 28, is getting married to professional hockey player Brooks Laich, 34, on July 8, 2017. "Dancing with the Stars" professional dancing champions Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are also getting married on July 8, 2017. Julianne's brother Derek Hough gave several reasons why the same wedding date is not a problem.
The six-time Mirrorball champion is thrilled that his little sister is marrying her longtime friend on July 8. He is also happy that his friends. Peta and Maks, are also tying the knot on the same date.
While some think there is a conflict, Derek doesn't think so, and he gave valid reasons to support his views that it is not a problem that both couples chose July 8 to get married.
One date; two weddings
Derek says the dancers, judges, and hosts on the ABC dancing competition show are friends and one big family, but they don't always socialize together. Besides, the weddings are taking place on two opposite coasts. The weddings are different and even if they were not happening on the same date, everybody was not going to be invited to both weddings. Dancers have their own families and friends outside of the ballroom.
Host Erin Andrews married professional hockey player Jarret Stoll on June 24 in a small romantic sunset wedding in Montana.and it wasn't reported that anyone from "Dancing with the Stars" was there.
That doesn't mean they didn't wish her well.
Julianne's wedding
When Derek was interviewed on Entertainment Tonight on June 27, he indicated that the "Dancing with the Stars" family might not have to choose which wedding to attend because the two weddings have their own invited guest lists. He and Julianne are from a very big close-knit family, and her wedding will be attended mostly by the big Hough family in California.
There will be a whole week's worth of activities and surprises. He says he is going to get teary-eyed when he sees Julianne walk down the aisle, but he has to keep it together because he is expected to make a speech at his sister's more intimate wedding.
Peta and Maks' wedding
Peta and Maks' wedding will take place over three days.
There will be a Shabbat dinner on Friday, July 7 for all their guests. The actual wedding ceremony and reception will be on Saturday, July 8 at Oheka Castle, an exclusive facility in Long Island, New York. Then there will be a brunch on Sunday, June 9.
The couple's five-month-old son, Shai, will be the ring bearer. Dancers Sharna Burgess and Tony Dovolani are in the wedding party. Keo Motsepe, Amber Rose, Nyle DiMarco, Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi are expected to attend. Val Chmerkovskiy, the groom's brother, will be there with Jenna Johnson since they are reportedly dating.
Congratulations are in order for both couples as they celebrate their nuptials on July 8.
